Rebecca Gilliland

Rebecca Gilliland is the advisor for PRSSA.  She is a Distinguished Professor of Service Learning and an Associate Professor of Communication at UIndy, as well as advisor to the universities student run public relations firm Top Dog Communication. In addition, she is an experienced  professor with a demonstrated history of original curricular design in public relations education. Fulbright Scholar and textbook author with a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) focused specifically in higher education and cognates in both PR and Communication Studies. Professionally, is among the roughly 2% of PR professionals nationally who are Accredited by the Public Relations Society of America.  As well as overseeing  Rebecca enjoys spending time with her children, playing and watching sports, and being outdoors.

Autumn Mayo is a senior communication major, with an emphasis in public relations and a minor in psychology. After graduation she hopes to obtain a career in the realm of sports or agency public relations. Autumn has been a part of PRSSA for three years. She has enjoyed her time as an account associate and an account executive for the university's student-run public relations firm, Top Dog Communication.  She has thrived as an account executive working on campaigns for the following clients: The Baxter YMCA, Project Alianza and Star Fish Initiative. All of which are local nonprofits in the Indianapolis area. Autumn has also had the opportunity to work as a public relations intern for OneAmerica Financial Partners in the summer of 2018. Throughout her three years of coursework at UIndy, Autumn has become affluent in public speaking, event planning, social media coordination, graphic design, as well as campaign planning and execution.  In Autumn’s free time you can find her hiking up a mountain, hanging out in a coffee shop, spending all her money thrift shopping or simply exploring the city she loves. After graduating from her bachelor's degree in the spring of 2020 she plans to pursue an M.B.A in business administration. Autumn is extremely excited to start the new school year and can't wait to graduate in the spring.

Savannah Ayres is a senior communication major, with an emphasis in public relations from Jamestown, New York. Savannah has been an active member for over two years starting out as a member and expanding her passion for PRSSA by becoming vice president. Other previous experience Savannah has are completing three semesters in the university’s student-run firm Top Dog Communication where she has advanced from account associate to account coordinator. In her free time, she enjoys exploring different places and trying new foods. Upon graduating in May 2020, she hopes to pursue a career in events and entertainment.

Emily Del Campo is a senior communication major, with an emphasis in public relations. After graduating, she hopes to explore a career in nonprofit organizations or possibly a field relating to sports. As a collegiate athlete, she has accomplished balancing work and sports throughout her education career. Emily has completed one semester as Top Dog Communications student in which she contributed to a campaign for Indianapolis Irish Cultural Council. The work detailed in this setting includes graphic design, public speaking, writing press releases, building websites, creating newsletter templates, and writing pitches. With current plans to continue building her communication skills, she will be in Top Dog her full senior year as well as taking on the role of PR Director to gain more experience in the field.

Sophie is a is a senior communication major with an emphasis in public relations and journalism with a minor in business administration. As a freshman, Sophie obtained the sports editor position on the UIndy Reflector Newspaper and held the position until advancing to news editor her junior year. She also was involved in Top Dog Communication for two years as an account associate then senior copywriter, until being promoted to account executive for her senior year. Sophie has also held the position of PRSSA secretary for two years. Outside of UIndy, she has also interned as the marketing and communication intern at Rayburn Group International and THE PLAID AGENCY and worked at The Old National Centre with Live Nation as the marketing assistant.

Bailey Timmers is a senior communication major with an emphasis in public relations from Cincinnati, Ohio. Bailey has been a proud member of PRSSA for the past three years and enjoys networking with her peers who are also in UIndy’s chapter. She has also been a part of the University’s student-run public relations firm, Top Dog Communication for six semesters and is the current firm director. This fall, Bailey will be an intern at Dittoe PR, a local agency in Indianapolis. In her free time, Bailey loves exploring Indianapolis and spending time with friends and family. After graduation, she hopes to pursue a career in corporate PR.

Taylor Strnad is a junior  double major in psychology and communication, with an emphasis in public relations. She is from Cleveland, Ohio. Recently joining PRSSA she has quickly developed a passion for public relations. As well as being a member of PRSSA, she is a member of Top Dog Communication, the student-run public relations firm at the University of Indianapolis. Beyond the University of Indianapolis, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family. Currently, she is an intern with Ascend Indiana as a recruitment coordinator where she hopes to expand her communication skills. After graduation, she hopes to be able to travel and work in public relations overseas.

Marissa Beck is a senior communication major with an emphasis in public relations and a minor in visual communication design. She enjoys her role as PRSSA fundraising chair and has been a part of Top Dog Communication, a student-run public relations firm at The University of Indianapolis. She has made her presence on the firm as an account associate, account coordinator and an account executive. Working in a fast paced environment is exactly what she needs to thrive. Marissa’s dream job would be to work for a passionate nonprofit organization. However, she also enjoys the environment of an agency where she can work with many different clients. In her free time, you will find her immersed in photography, drawing, and painting. She also loves spending time with her family, friends and her rescue dog named Opal.
